What makes House Kombucha so lovely and delicious?

House Kombucha is a live, raw, and probiotic lifestyle beverage.  Because we don't add sugar or flavors to our finished brews, our all natural, artisanal kombucha also happens to be exceedingly low in calories.  (House Kombucha = 10 calories / 8oz serving, 50% less than other kombucha)

In this section you can learn more about the effects of kombucha, its rich history and how to make it yourself.

The Tea

Like any fine food or drink, the magic is in the ingredients.  After that, it’s all about the culinary art of proportions and timing.

Did you know that kombucha is made from tea? Not every kombucha company emphasizes this.  We do.  Tea is as fundamental to kombucha as grapes are to making wine. All our teas are sourced from Red Blossom Tea Company and SF Herb Co., two locally owned and operated businesses that are great places to learn more about tea and herbs.

Different types of tea, green, black and white have different properties, health benefits and preparation needs.  We ferment each of our five blends separately, taking care to cultivate the cultures so that they become uniquely accustomed to their tea mixtures.  Our current selection of teas have been personally sourced and blended by House Kombucha to make the best 5 flavors of kombucha teas ever.

NEW! Ginger Pearl: Our latest brew is a tantalizing "cold-kicker" blend of pearl green tea, dried ginger root, cayenne pepper, and a dash of sea salt. Ginger Pearl is now popping up on shelves around the Bay. Try it today!

Jasmine Green: The sweet, capricious fragrance from dried jasmine flowers blended with green tea produces a kombucha tea subtly suggestive of grape juice.

Rose Black: This refresher is one of our first kombucha teas and is a mainstay. Rose Black kombucha is a full bodied black tea with a wine-like complexity.

Lavender Green: Related to the mint plant, the lavender flower cools the body and when brewed with pearl green tea consistently yields a distinctively light kombucha with a naturally occurring lemon finish.

Vanilla Orchid-Root
: We infuse our personal blend of assam tea and roasted chicory root w/ Tahitian vanilla bean to create this thirst quenching revelation. With its peppery chicory notes and solid vanilla bean flavors, Vanilla Orchid-Root is the most root beer-like of our kombuchas.

Sun BlossomAn uplifting ferment of white tea and sweet orange blossoms. Naturally low-caffeinated and the most potent immuno-boosting of teas, white tea brings to mind the beauty and crisp freshness of a spring garden.  House Kombucha created this lovely drink as a tribute to the
Baha'i Faith.   First introduced as "Ridvan" (pronounced "Rez-wan" -Arabic and Farsi for "a place in paradise"), we changed the name to better relate these attributes to this fragrant kombucha.

Smoked Pear: One of our most beloved flavors is no longer available in the bottle because the pear pieces stick to the bottle and cause exploding bottles in the summer.  However, Smoked Pear was a legend.  We will supply it on reserve at select restaurants when we have pears available. It is made with Gunpowder Green tea for a very cool smokey note. You are lucky to have some of this drink.
